Lesson
through Internet.
Transmission
of knowledge from a teacher to the learners won’t take place if a teacher lacks
the sound knowledge of teaching students using different approaches and the
teacher can’t make any progress in his teaching if he doesn’t reflect back and
do analysis on his way of teaching. So in this piece of writing, I would like
to write the reflection on the integration of ICT in teaching my lesson.
On 23rd August, 2019, I have planned my
lesson for Class V mathematics on the topic “Area and Perimeter Relationships”
for a duration of forty minutes. In this lesson, I have prepared two
activities, first activity is where children are going to browse the internet
and explore on the relationship between area and perimeter. Then the second
activity is where I will be giving questions on finding the area and perimeter
of Rectangles.
In
the 1st period, I took the students of class V’ A’ to the ICT laboratory
for the lesson to be
By using ICT facilities in lesson, I have found that
ICT has really motivated the students in teaching –learning processes. Children
were actively engaged in their learning and were able to give more information
on the concept as compare to teaching in the classroom through chalk and chalkboard.
With the increasing
capacity of information and communication technologies, I have found that there
is a rise in new learning opportunities beyond the traditional "book-
teacher" model. Globally, the nature of learning and teaching is changing
rapidly. As new technology is being accepted as the catalyst for new learning
environments, access to communication has become crucial and we can no longer
ignore.
ICT proves that students who used educational technology
felt more successful in school, they are more motivated to learn more and
increase self- confidence and self-esteem. It is also confirmed that many
students found learning in a technology-enhanced setting more stimulating
and much better than in a traditional classroom environment (Pedretti and
Mayer-Smith 1998).
ICT opens up opportunities for learning because it enables
learners to access, extend, transform and share ideas and information in
multi-modal communication styles and format. It helps the learner to share
learning resources and spaces, promote learner centered and collaborative
learning principles and enhance learning system.
