                                             Lesson through Internet.
Transmission of knowledge from a teacher to the learners won’t take place if a teacher lacks the sound knowledge of teaching students using different approaches and the teacher can’t make any progress in his teaching if he doesn’t reflect back and do analysis on his way of teaching. So in this piece of writing, I would like to write the reflection on the integration of ICT in teaching my lesson.
On 23rd August, 2019, I have planned my lesson for Class V mathematics on the topic “Area and Perimeter Relationships” for a duration of forty minutes. In this lesson, I have prepared two activities, first activity is where children are going to browse the internet and explore on the relationship between area and perimeter. Then the second activity is where I will be giving questions on finding the area and perimeter of Rectangles.

In the 1st period, I took the students of class V’ A’ to the ICT laboratory for the lesson to be

delivered. I began the lesson by revising the previous lesson and making a link to what they were going to learn. Then I gave the instructions for the first activity, telling them to browse the internet and explore on the area and perimeter relationships for ten minutes. When they have finished on exploration, I asked them to tell the area and perimeter relationships. After that I have given the second activity, where children are asked to find the area and perimeter of the given rectangles, later I made few children to read out their written answers and gave necessary support, finally I have done the lesson closure by asking questions like what is area/ perimeter?

By using ICT facilities in lesson, I have found that ICT has really motivated the students in teaching –learning processes. Children were actively engaged in their learning and were able to give more information on the concept as compare to teaching in the classroom through chalk and chalkboard.
With the increasing capacity of information and communication technologies, I have found that there is a rise in new learning opportunities beyond the traditional "book- teacher" model. Globally, the nature of learning and teaching is changing rapidly. As new technology is being accepted as the catalyst for new learning environments, access to communication has become crucial and we can no longer ignore.
ICT proves that students who used educational technology felt more successful in school, they are more motivated to learn more and increase self- confidence and self-esteem. It is also confirmed that many students found learning in a technology-enhanced setting more stimulating and much better than in a traditional classroom environment (Pedretti and Mayer-Smith 1998).
ICT opens up opportunities for learning because it enables learners to access, extend, transform and share ideas and information in multi-modal communication styles and format. It helps the learner to share learning resources and spaces, promote learner centered and collaborative learning principles and enhance learning system.

Advantages/Benefits of ICT in teaching a lesson.

Advantages/Benefits of ICT in teaching a lesson.

ICT has become an integral part of teaching and learning process, which is why in all the countries of world ICT use has been introduced. Many developed countries have ICT already in use, which helped to uplift the quality of education. Seeing the benefits, our country too is trying to provide ICT facilities to all the schools,

The uses of ICT make the teaching and learning much easier and understandable for both the teachers and the learners. Though the teachers are skillful and knowledgeable, the knowledge imparted to the learners would be much better with the use of ICT otherwise it would be like an army going for the war without a weapon.

It’s an abstract concept to teach the topic photosynthesis. The information given in the text and is like the explanation done will fetch a fewer brighter ones leaving most of the learners with full of questions. When it was taught using a video clip showing the process of photosynthesis, many of the learners were exited and I had noticed that there was a constructive interaction among them. The use of the video clip really helped to explicit the ideas on the concept taught.

As a teacher, the use of ICT lessens our workload. We need not do the lecturing all the time as it used to be in the past. We all know very well that we learn less through lecturing and it was rote learning most of the time without understanding. But these days the teaching and the learning take place through play way methods with the help of the availability of ICT facilities. We are excess to variety of teaching strategies, interesting activities and many more if we really make good use of ICT sincerely. It is confirmed that many learners found learning in a technology- enhanced setting more stimulating and much better than in traditional classroom environment (Pedretti and Mayer-Smith 1998).
